646f9e108c Oz Vessalius, heir to one of the duke houses, has just turned fifteen. His life is rich and carefree, darkened only by the constant absence of his father. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, he's cast into the prison known as the "Abyss", only to be saved by a "chain" known as Alice, the bloodstained black rabbit. Why was he cast into Abyss, how does Alice factor into it all, and what does the organization known as "Pandora" want with him.
At first I didn't really like or care for this.. as the story progressed I became more attached to the characters (as in every movie, TV show, anime, book, etc). The characters were brilliant, what really made me stay was the way there were no "super weak" "helpless" characters who were utterly useless. Another great thing was the plot in general,I love the plot. I like the way there's more than one actual goal. The characters themselves always surprised me, even during the attempt to expect the unexpected, I still was fooled most of the episodes. The story was filled with great dialogue and emotions. I really wish there was a season 2 & to be honest, I can't say much without spoiling so I'd rather not mention anything… but I will say this anime is pretty amazing.
Pandora Hearts is an okay anime. When it comes to the plot, it was quite confusing, and I still don't understand what was the main concept. The whole chain thing and Abyss was kind of difficult to understand and the anime didn't do a good job explaining it. Other than that, the characters were interesting, as well as the universe that the anime had created, with Alice in Wonderland inspired world. The action was nice, as well as the fun part, where the anime was getting a bit silly. So, overall, 4 out of 10.
